Filterco Inc. String Wound Cartridge Filter Manufacturing
Filterco has been Manufacturing string wound cartridge filters in Owensboro, Ky. for over 40 years.
Filterco uses the same micron patterns to wind our string wound filters that were developed by the first string wound filter company in the 1940's.
Filterco gear driven machines guarantee consistent wind patterns and that results in consistent micron filtration for a true depth filter.
Consistent micron pattern = correct micron filtration. Each wind pattern creates a specific micron targeted removal. Filterco will test for filter diameter, filter length and the very important , filter net weight (weight of yarn). Each micron pattern has a specific net weight target per length. A filter having a low net weight will not achieve the proper filtration efficiency percentage or loading capacity of a filter manufactured to the correct net weight.
Filterco's winding process adds an additional operation to nap the fiber over the vortex created by the wind pattern to trap the particulate in the vortex. This napping process is another key to filter efficiencies.
Filterco only uses FDA Grade Polypropylene yarn, guaranteeing no chance of misapplication in an FDA only processes. Filterco also offers FDA grade yarns in bleached cotton and polyester. For industrial filter applications we have Rayon yarn, Industrial cotton yarn, a cleaned cotton yarn with same filter properties as the bleached cotton but not FDA grade.
Core extenders are also available. The metal core extenders are one piece. The core blanks are cut longer, then are pressed in a die to compress the end so it fits in the filter vessel. Poly core extenders are also available.
In order to give our customers the best overall cost advantage we will compare UPS shipment costs to truck shipment costs to get you the lowest freight cost.
Filterco stocks many combinations of filter lengths, microns, and yarn media to reduce order turn around time.
Filterco maintains large inventories of yarns and cores in order to cushion any supply item disruptions.
All our raw materials are sourced in America, supporting American made and lowering costs by being tariff free.
Machine downtime is minimized by keeping an inventory of machine and electrical repair parts in house.
